I recently took the 30 Day Alcohol-Free Challenge that I wrote about in this particular article. James Swanwick is the founder of this challenge and he also has created a 90 Day alcohol-free initiative which is oftentimes joined by members who have completed the 30 Day challenge.
Anyway, I took this challenge a few months ago and found it to be a life-altering experience, not so much during that experience (although that was certainly enlightening), but more so after the challenge. Since that challenge, I have considerably altered my alcohol intake. Prior to the challenge I would drink at least one or two alcoholic beverages each night and usually much more than that on the weekends.
Since that challenge, I have opted for non-alcoholic options or near beer (less than 0.5% alcohol) options especially during the week. In this day and age there are many more alcohol-free options available for the person who desires to drink alcohol-free.
One of the options I found, and think it is the best option I have found thus far, is called Lagunitas Hop – The Hoppy Refresher. It is manufactured by Lagunitas Brewing Company. Lagunitas is based in both Petaluma, CA and Chicago, IL. If you want to find out where you can purchase Hop near you, you can go here which is the Lagunitas Beer Find page (even though it’s not really a beer). Just enter your location and use the Filters and choose Hop and the locations should show up near you.

I cannot stress this point enough. I have no affiliation with Lagunitas! I am writing this article for selfish reasons because I want people to go out and buy this product because I want Lagunitas to keep producing it! I don’t want to hear one day that Hop has been discontinued so I’m doing my part to spread the word.
So what is so great about Hop, the refreshing alcohol-free option? First of all it contains no alcohol at all. It isn’t less than 0.5% alcohol like most low alcohol options out there. It contains 0% alcohol.
It also has zero calories, zero carbohydrates, zero sugars, and zero sodium! So, how can an alcohol-free refresher taste so good? I’m not really sure but I can say that it tastes awesome. If you are looking to cut down on your alcohol consumption or to cut out alcohol entirely, Hop just might be a great option for you as well.
My suggestion is that you buy a 4 pack and give it a shot yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed. I would also love to hear from you if you try it!
