My cubicle is my home away from home and I need to have artifacts in there that remind me of loved ones, past trips, etc. Recently, with the loss of my father, I have a certain area of my cube with his obituary and pictures of us together. I look at them every day and remember the good man that he was. It's strange that you both are actors as my wife and I build sets for theater performances. We work with the high school and are now just beginning to get involved in a community theater. We recently worked on a set for Romeo and Juliet, speaking of Shakespeare. I keep a clean desk, work from left to right, have pictures of family, trips, music of all kinds and representations of things that are important to me. My husband and I both act and one of my favorite pieces by Shakespeare is the St. Crispin's Day Speech, and our 'baby' a 90 lb red French Mastiff (or Dogue de Bordeaux) whose registered name is Ivy Bordeaux's Cossette ValJean (more literature references) we call her Cosey. However the most important thing I have in my office is a credo from one of my very first corporate jobs and I want to share it. Each day we all face challenges and frustrations, but if we try to practice this perhaps the day may be a little more tolerable. The credo - "Assumption of Goodwill". I haven't forgotten that in more than 29 years and try to say it at least 1 time a day. We all have our ways of making our days go by, and mine is more often pleasant. than not.
