Thanks Reese! I’m glad you mentioned picturing your family in the space. I consider furniture placement extremely important, even when the pieces are not ideal. Most people have a very difficult time figuring out where their pieces will go, even in large rooms. That is why builders stage new construction. If the most common pieces are properly placed in a room (i.e bed, nightstands, bureau in a bedroom), it eliminates the guess work and makes it easy for the prospective buyer.

Thanks’ for the great post – really liked it. Regarding stress relief, I have to say that pets really help. In my case, a dog. Dogs always understand when you are sad or stressed. Also you can always talk to your dog. A sad thing is that dogs cannot talk back. But it is minor minus. In any case, if you are stressed and there is a possibility to get a pet, I strongly recommend it.

These are great staging tips. When I bought my property years ago I have to say that how the real estate agent staged the place played a great deal. It made me picture myself actually living there with my family and estimate how roomy the place will still be with all our furniture in it.
