I started college at an older-than-usual age (and hadn't really attended high school...very much lol) and a lot of it is learn as you go. I was working full-time but my schedule was flexible enough so that I could also take full-time classes, after getting my feet wet part-time for 3 semesters (it wasn't easy but I didn't have any other obligations). Finished my BA with honors at 28 and MA at 33. Changed majors 5 times lol--didn't know what I wanted to study at all. And though I started with evening classes at a small, private college, I soon realized that the community college was the way to go and from there, the university. Glad you're encouraging older students! Though I started in the mid-80s and finished in 91 and 96, there were quite a few older students, and I'm sure there are even more now. Good article.
